Tribal:Get Out Alive is coming for you in 2020 #supportindiefilm

Written by Johnny Walker. Directed by Matt Routledge

I remember the days when we had to wait for a news story on television, or a trailer on the big screen or even a story in a film magazine  to find out about an up and coming film. Then the internet came and websites all over the world would talk about a wide range of films and stars that would soon grace our screens both big and small. With the rise of film websites, this means that smaller independent films could gain free marketing without having to fly the professional journalists on so called junkets to get the column space to market their movies. But with the rise of indie films, television shows, web series, and short films, this meant that a lot of films became lost in the crowd. But website owners, and film fans like myself, quickly learned to hunt for films, to train our eyes and ears to pick out the great looking films, made by talented cast and crews and to talk about those and fill our column inches with news about those films. I love it when I ‘discover’ a film in the early stages of its creation, and follow its journey, and build up my anticipation to that day when I sit down in either a darkened theatre, or a darkened living room and wait for the story to unfold after months or sometimes years or teasing and social media updates to get us all hand clapping and chewing at the bit to see what wonders the filmmakers have in store. I thrive on finding new films to watch and write about and Tribal:Get Out Alive is one of those titles.

Elite military personnel Caitlin Ross(Zara Phythian) retires from service after suffering from PTSD. Along with former team member and close friend Brad Johnson (Ross O Hennessy), they opted for the ‘easy life’ and now lead a small security firm. The company are hired by young, troublesome millionaire Richard Kenning (Thomas Dodd) to clear and secure the land and property he has recently inherited. Rumours and stories surrounding the land and buildings are dismissed until people start disappearing and the team end up locked in with no escape. It soon becomes apparent they are being hunted and the race is on to get out alive

With a cast list of familiar names such as Zara Phythian (Marvels Doctor Strange) , Ross O Hennessey (Game Of Thrones), Rachel Warren (Top Boy), and Lamissah La Shontae (Are We Dead Yet) who I will be working with again later this year as part of my own film project ‘Mimi’

Whilst I cant comment on the film (yet) What I will say about the team behind Tribal:Get Out Alive is that their social media presence is great, with stills, updates and a great selection of behind the scenes videos being shared to keep film fans up to date with the journey, allowing us along for the ride. You can see a couple of those here
