North American rights to Madness in the Method, the directorial debut of Jay Mewes ( @jaymewes ) go to Cinedigm #supportindiefilm #movies

I’ve been waiting for this film for what seems like an age, but I know these things take time, but its not easy being a film fan. When you first hear of a film being put together you eagerly await the time when you can head to the cinema and check it out. But first the film needs to be filmed, edited, post produced. find a distributor etc etc etc, but hey  Cinedigm have acquired the North American rights to the directorial debut of Mr Jason Mewes Madness in the Method and that makes me super happy because its a step nearer to me being able to check the film out across the pond in the UK.

Cinedigm plans an August 2nd 2019 day-and-date platform release with the film being shown in theatres but also being released onto

In Madness In The Method, Jason Mewes plays a version of himself and tired of Hollywood’s perception of him, he embarks on a quest to reinvent himself as a serious actor (which does reflect the real world in which people often think of Jason as only the ‘Jay’ character from the Askewuniverse and yet here he is a director of film. . Upon advice from best friend Kevin Smith, Jason tracks down a secretive method-acting book — with disastrous consequences of course.

“The only way to survive in Hollywood is to toughen up. At least that’s the advice Kevin Smith, aka Silent Bob, passes on to his best friend Jason ‘Jay’ Mewes. Only Smith didn’t expect his advice to turn Jay into a psychopathic killer.

No longer content being known as Jay, the vocal half of the Jay and Silent Bob stoner duo, and Kevin Smith’s sidekick, Jason takes matters into his own hands. He hatches a plan to dethrone Kevin Smith, and take over his universe and emerge from Silent Bob’s shadow. And it’s a plan that may or may not involve the murder of Danny Trejo… Can Jay pull it off or is it all just the fantastical ‘mewesings’ of an insane ex-drug addict?”

The film has an incredible supporting cast and includes Gina Carano, Jaime Camil, Vinnie Jones, Danny Trejo, the late Stan Lee, Teri Hatcher, Brian O’Halloran , Dean Cain, Edmund Kingsley, Matt Willis,Blake Harrison, Casper Van Dien, Judd Nelson and David Dastmalchian. (try saying that amazing cast in a single breath. The film is written by Chris Anastasi and Dominic Burns (Allies, UFO)
