Mr. Church, Starring Eddie Murphy, Will Debut in cinemas on Sept. 16, 2016

Cinelou Films’ Co-CEOs Courtney Solomon and Mark Canton announced today that MR. CHURCH, which stars Academy Award-nominated actor Eddie Murphy (DREAMGIRLS) and Britt Robertson (TOMORROWLAND and Hulu’s CASUAL), will debut in cinemas on Sept. 16.
MR. CHURCH, produced by Cinelou and EMA, is a touching and heartwarming drama that tells the story of a lifelong friendship that develops between a young girl (Robertson) and the cook (Murphy) hired to help care for her dying mother (Natascha McElhone). Two-time Academy Award nominee Bruce Beresford (TENDER MERCIES, DRIVING MISS DAISY) directs. The film was produced by Solomon, Canton, Lee Nelson and David Buelow. MR. CHURCH was executive produced by Shenghua Entertainment’s Yu Wei Chung, in addition to Dennis L. Pelino and Fredy Bush.
Cinelou Co-CEO Solomon said, “We are proud to be a part of Eddie Murphy’s return to the big screen, particularly because he’s playing a role so different from his previous work. It’s thrilling to see him demonstrate his incredible talent and skill with drama in MR. CHURCH.”
MR. CHURCH will be distributed domestically by Cinelou Releasing and internationally via Cinelou’s deal with Warner Bros. International. MR. CHURCH will also be available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. following the home entertainment release. Prime Video will be the exclusive subscription streaming home for the film — Prime members in the U.S. will be able to stream the film via the Amazon Video on TVs, mobile devices or online.
Two-year-old Cinelou Films’ freshman debut was CAKE, starring Jennifer Aniston, Sam Worthington, Adriana Barraza and Anna Kendrick.
