The White Collar Hooligan is back. Part 3

One of the UK’s most succesful independent film franchises comes to a conclusion with “White Collar Hooligan 3: Revenge in Rio”. Following on from “The Rise & Fall of a White Collar Hooligan” and “White Collar Hooligan 2: England Away, the trilogy concludes as Mike and Eddie manage to track down the villain responsible for the death of Katie to exact their revenge, but all does not go according to plan in Rio against the backdrop of the World Cup.

Im such a fan of the world of Paul Tanters, White Collar Hooligan. The first film was one of three responsible for my decision to watch more UK films than I had ever done before. It introduced me to a whole new set of wonderful creative talent. A decision I never regret. The UK produces some fantastic films and the White Collar Hooligan films are definitely in there. Pure entertainment. Initially I figured that The Rise and Fall Of A White Collar Hooligan (2012) would be another football movie, but far from it. The first two films (and im sure the third instalment) are more crime dramas/thrillers with just a hint of football in them. Great stories, well put together and written with film fans in mind.

Nick Nevern (Riot, The Hooligan Factory, Terry) and Simon Phillips (He Who Dares,How To Stop being A Loser) won audiences over with their portrayal of the hooligan fraudsters in the first two films and the third sees rising star Josh Myers (Green Street 3, I Am Soldier) join the franchise. Looking forward to seeing how he does.

Familiar faces Rita Ramnani (Airborne, Jack Falls), Rebecca Ferdinando (Bonded by Blood,Shank) and Vas Blackwood (Daylight Robbery, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) also reprise their roles from the first installments. As with the first two films, the third is written and directed by Paul Tanter.

Im very excited to see this film having only know of the films existance whem mentioned in conversation earlier in the year. Will the White Collar Hooligan franchise be laid to rest after this third film? Thats a burning question Id like to ask the makers behind the film, but its also a question I will only ask them once I have seen the film.

I am sure they never planned the films to be a trilogy, but thats another question I look forward to asking Paul Tanter or Simon Phillips at some point in my future, and theirs.

Its been a great year so far for fans of the Tanterverse (the world of Paul Tanter and his films) Recently I watched his film Shame The Devil and loved it, earlier in the year I watched He Who Dares and loved that film too. Now lets see if he can go for 3 out of 3 and blow me away with White Collar Hooligan 3. Im betting he does.

Looking at some of the cast though. I do want to acknowledge that there is someone missing from the film. Im sure its explained in the plot, but I want to thank Nick Nevern for being such a fantastic part of the White Collar Hooligan Franchise, and if you havent checked out Nicks latest film. The Hooligan Factory. Then check it out!

Added Note: For those wondering why I have used German artwork in this article and not the UK artwork. Youll hear more about that in the very near future.
